Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) compliant Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks.
This course enables you to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, which says that employers should provide a safe environment for their employees.
Course Aim
We offer this HSE compliant certificated course for up to 12 candidates (subject to COVID safety advice), in an open course format, making it ideal for small employers to send one or two employees along to be taught basic first aid by our highly qualified, friendly tutor.
The HSE compliant Emergency First Aid at Work training is usually suited for first aiders in low/medium risk working environments. The EFAW training course is also suitable for individuals who want or require training for personal or professional development.
Course Content Includes
The content of the EFAW course provides emergency lifesaving first aid. It includes the following with lots of hands on practice:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Be able to assess an incident
- Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty (includes CPR and Defib)
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
- Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
- Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
Course Costs & Options
This is a full 1 day (7 contact hours) course.
Certification
On successful completion of the Emergency First Aid at Work training course, candidates will receive the HSE Approved, nationally recognised, Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Certificate. This certificate is valid for 3 years although the HSE strongly recommend a yearly half day update.
